Formative Assessment (Math)
Limited Capacity seats available

Formative assessment allows an opportunity for teachers to determine what students know so far about a concept or topic. Synonymous with “assessment for learning”, these checks occur as an incorporated and integral part of the instructional process to inform how the teacher will need to instruct next in the cycle. This session features the book Mathematics Formative Assessment: 75 Practical Strategies for Linking Assessment, Instruction, and Learning. Teachers attending will get a hands on look at how to create brief tasks that help to check for student understanding and guide instructional planning. Each campus will also receive sets of the featured book so that teachers can reference it once back on campus.

Math Workshop: Spaces & Places (PK-3)
Limited Capacity seats available

In this hands on session led by associates of Debbie Diller, author of Math Work Stations, teachers will learn to set up their classroom space efficiently and effectively in order to teach with math work stations that connect to whole group and small group instruction and tie to state standards.
