Melissa Heckman has been in education since 2012. She received her Bachelors degree from The University of Texas at Dallas and her Masters of Education in Instructional Technology from Texas Tech University. She began her teaching career in Carrollton Farmers Branch ISD teaching Kindergarten. Melissa later came to Little Elm ISD in 2013 to teach 1st Grade and transitioned to a Digital Learning Facilitator in 2016.

Melissa is a Level 1 & 2 Google Certified Educator, a Seesaw Ambassador, and both a Flipgrid & Nearpod Certified Educator. She has previously served as a member of Little Elm ISD's Technology Advisory Committee, and was apart of LEISD's first class of Aspiring Leaders Institute 1, 2, and 3. Melissa is also a certified Engage2Learn Coach. She has presented at Denton ISD's TIA Conference and this will be Melissa's seventh year to present at LEISD's Summer Learning Summit.
